EZ wasn't exactly … at all.

The Elvstrom Zellerbach is typically a windy regatta and this year didn't disappoint.  Though unlike last year, the winds stayed more or less shy of 20 knots and so we had a blast both days.  Tight racing was the word for the weekend with four teams each getting a bullet.  Windward rounding were as tight as it can be with a small fleet and the sea gods exacting their fun on nearly every boat with broken parts, capsizes and close calls with the myriad of monohull crossings.

An amazing weekend.  Congrats particularly to Mikey/Fei and Matthaeus/Marcus for jumping into the deep end with such big smiles and the good sense to throttle back as necessary in San Francisco conditions.

Many thanks also to St. Francis for putting us on the City Front course and managing such a diverse group of fleets.  35 volunteers, at least 7 chase boats and a top yacht club.  First Class!

Here is the link to more of Laura's work from the weekend.  Please thank her if you know her.  It is quite an effort to get out to take shots. It sure brings the sailors big grins.

See you in Santa Cruz.
