The St Francis Spring Dinghy Regatta, the season opener for the San Francisco F18 fleet, has come and gone.  Boats and crews were able to challenge themselves in the full range of conditions SF Bay has to offer.  Saturday started out mild with average winds in the low teens -- prime rockstar conditions.  A final 4th race with patchy winds and holes along the city front offered some surprises and shook up the finishing order.  Sunday's first race picked up where Sat left off -- mild conditions but with a minefield of dead zones at the leeward mark, which some boats fell prey to.  And for the final race of Sun, the predicted storm front blew in and offered up SF Bay's customary 20 kt gusts as its parting gift to all boats and crews. Next up is the Elvstrom Zellerbach regatta on 4/30 weekend.
