- Home Depot — If you lose a $40 pair of gloves, try a $4 pair of work gloves with latex or nitrile palms.
- Rooster Sailing — U.K. makers of excellent technical clothing that's not available through retailers. Great service; they should get more attention in the U.S.

- UK-Halsey Sailing Rules Quizzes — very well-executed series of online quizzes that present you with a Flash-animated race situation where you pretend to be the jury. Access to answers requires you to subscribe to the loft's email newsletters, but is otherwise free.
- North U. — North Sails in conjunction with US Sailing hosts a circuit of all-day seminars, one of which focuses on rules. Not free, but taught by real experts.
- You-Tack! — really well-developed iPhone app that goes beyond just the bare rules. Quizzes are based on the RYA Appeals Case Book and come with clear 3-D animations and intuitive hyperlinks to rules and definitions.
