Port of Redwood City

The map below on this page is a 2-D rendering the Port of Redwood City. It his helpful to have some idea of where the shallow areas are before you sail here. Everyone gets stuck in the mud here at some point. Everyone!

If you have a fast Internet connection, you should try the following subpages with 3-D Google Earth renderings that you can pan around in:
Those pages are data-intensive and can take several seconds to load even with a fast connection. You should be able to view the waypoints when they're ready; if not try a different browser (Chrome seems to work very well). You probably need to have the Google Earth plugin installed (if you don't have it try getting it here).

For the map below note the following:
  • The launch ramp is located at the bottom of the map, in the middle.
  • You should be able to click on objects to get more information about them.
  • There is a series of waypoints running north/south in the Bay marking edges of the deep-water channel.
  • The red areas are shallow, especially at low tide.  Avoid them.
  • The green areas are safe to sail in.
